The Word, sacred or profane. That’s what art is all about. Art began as rituals, as medicine for body and mind, as a way to develop community. Sure art should be fun, it should speak to us, but at best it does something more– it’s cathartic, it’s transcendent. Why omegart? Because it seems as if it should be about everything. Gestaltian, omega-ian. Aeon. Ions. Words.

Words that have a beat inside your head, like music; you hear the voice echoing deep, deep. Words that form a picture, reshape you…The aesthetic experience (my students know about this). What does art mean to you?

  1. One of my favorite artists was the late great George Carlin. He had a thing for words. Check out “Last Words” which by no means are they his last words. Great performer.
